UFC on Fuel TV 7 took place yesterday as Renan Barao (-290) defended his interim bantamweight title against Michael McDonald (+260). Action came in on both fighters as the betting line for Barao wavered between -260 to -360, eventually closing at -290. The first couple rounds of the fight were competitive and could have gone either way, however, McDonald began to slow down in the third round. Barao mixed it up with his striking and takedowns and was able to finish McDonald late in the fourth round with an arm triangle choke. Barao is now 30-1 and has won an impressive 30 fights in a row. Hopefully Dominic Cruz comes back soon as there aren't too many contenders left for Barao.

The co-main event featured a pick'em fight between Cub Swanson and Dustin Poirier with both fighters closing at +100. Swanson just seemed to be the better overall fighter last night using his effective striking and solid grappling to control the fight. He scored a late takedown midway through the third round, gaining a dominant position and ultimately securing a unanimous decision. He now pushes his winning streak to 4 and has looked impressive since his submission loss to Ricardo Lamas.

Not many finishes last night, but there were many competitive bouts with 6 pick'em fights. The biggest favorite on the card, Terry Etim (-333) lost to Renee Forte (+320) by unanimous decision. Other notable underdogs to win were Phil Harris (+190) against Ulysses Gomez (-200) and Matt Riddle (+120) against Che Mills (-105).
